Let’s have a beach day! We trekked up to the North End beach at low tide to see what we could see.
Which was a lot! Here are sea biscuits. The one on the left is dry and dead – but pretty; the one on the right is furry with soft spines – but alive.
Here are sea stars.
And a beautifully hued conch.
With a little conch inside, peering out.
And finally the entire conch came out to see what was going on. They sure look odd. So beautiful on the outside and so slug-like on the inside.
Here’s a video of the conch: https://youtu.be/1gPsd3VHAeY
Then we saw this green “thing” in the water which spewed bright red ink at us.
The ink spread and dissipated.
Here’s the spewing “thing.” It’s called a sea hare.
And one lone sand dollar – brown and alive.
A gorgeous day exploring the local sea life.
Cool! I can’t wait to show Russ the sea hare! Who knew?
