A visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium is a must – it’s beautiful, fascinating and fun. Monday morning Amelia was at work there, Crew stayed at the house, and I got to explore the Aquarium.
First I went to watch the otters.
Then it was feeding time at The Open Sea. The people standing in front give you some perspective of the size of this gigantic tank.
The little sardines were fed the day I visited, but the big fish – and sea turtles – were also in the mix.
Then I was off to my favorite – the jellies. I find them mesmerizing.
And exquisitely beautiful.
I especially like the delicate white ones – all frilly lace and silky translucence.
Another favorite exhibit of mine is The Secret Lives of Seahorses. They are so tiny and fragile looking.
And so unusual. This is a leafy seadragon or Glauert’s seadragon. Great camouflage!
Such a special place to visit.
Great pictures. Great fun, for sure.
I have yet to see this Aquarium. It looks like an amazing place to stay for hours and just admire each every creature. Loved it…thanks Nancy.
I love aquariums as well. This one is a really good one. I find all that underwater life mesmerizing as well.
PS> Last year I visited the Atlanta Aquarium; amazing as well.
Can’t believe you’re already on your way home. How did you ever tear yourself away?
