What a great Thanksgiving here in Hopetown in the Bahamas. The best part? We got to Skype with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson in California. And then … we added my mom, sister, brother, sister-in-law and nephew to our Skype conversation. From central Michigan. All speaking together on one call. Although, truly, we were all mostly watching the antics of our adorable grandbaby. So much to be thankful for.
Oh, and of course we ate a turkey dinner. In mid-afternoon, we got in the dinghy for our 2 minute ride to shore to Cap’n Jacks.
What a view from their over-the-water deck. That’s our beautiful boat on the far left and the Hope Town lighthouse on the right.
Soon we were joined by friends. And served a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
Deep-fried turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, candied yams, green beans, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Even pumpkin pie. Of course it’s not Thanksgiving here in the Bahamas, but they made us feel right at home. (Except for a couple of favorite family recipes.)
Hope your Thanksgiving was happy.
Happy Thanksgiving! Sounds like a wonderful time!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU BOTH. YOU ARE LOOKING GREAT. SANDY
