After the crossing, it’s fun to take a break. Whew! We rested at the Vero Beach City Marina, just two hours north of Ft. Pierce. It collects a lot of cruising sailboats and every Thursday at 5:00 p.m., there’s a meet-up on shore. Everyone takes hors d’oeuvres and a drink and gets to know each other and share their crossing stories.
But this meet-up was super special, because half a dozen very talented musicians were among the group. One was our friend and crossing buddy George.
