Hopetown for the Holidays

We are NOT dreaming of a white Christmas!  Nope, we’re loving the palm trees and warm temperatures.  Here are some scenes from Christmas in Paradise.   Funny to see a snowman with palm trees.

Volunteers worked hard to create a holiday village in the ball park, as a fundraiser for Hopetown’s community center.

Complete with a big tree decked in holiday splendor.

And a place to send letters to Santa.

Even an ice rink (for kids) constructed special plastic sheeting, tabbed together like puzzle pieces.  It mimics ice – sort of.

Some of the kids have never seen snow  — but they dream of snowboarding.

Lots of homes are exhibiting a holiday spirit.  This snowman looks a little “pissed.”

Kids at the local church put on an fun holiday play with elaborate costumes and beautiful singing.

We are planning a quiet dinner on a friend’s deck, overlooking the Sea of Abaco.  REALLY missing our family.  Best wishes to all.
